Strap on your snowshoes for an afternoon excursion on the backcountry trail network that radiates out from the Snowshoe Sporting Clay facility as you enjoy 43 kilometers of marked trails.  And, for the most hearty of souls, you can choose to follow a trail that could bring you to the Shavers Lake, the the Sunrise Backcountry Hut or even to the Firetower deep along the Cheat Mountain Ridge Trail.  After a quick break to catch your breath, it's back to the Village to warm up with a nice cup of hot chocolate.   It's the perfect way to spend an afternoon - or entire day!

Snowshoe rentals Include a 15 minute introductory lesson at the time of equipment rental.

Snowshoeing is dependent upon natural snowfall.  Snowshoeing is offered Friday - Sunday beginning December 17, 2007.  Check-in at the Old Discovery Center located near the Shaver Center prior to heading out to the trails.
