The following trip gives you a chance to explore some of the fun and exciting adventures found here in Pocahontas County. The trip is offered under the guidance of Snowshoe's Outdoor Adventure Program.
The Adventure Express - Cass & Green Bank
Start your day by touring the NRAO (National Radio Astronomy Observatory) and take a guided tour of the World's largest radio telescope. Follow this with a picnic lunch on the Greenbrier River. Then take a ride on the historic Cass steam train that will transport you back in time... and let you relive the era of steam-driven locomotives. Transportation, train ride, lunch, and a tour of the National Radio Observatory.
The Adventure Express - Cranberry Glades
Nature Lovers; get ready for a fascinating day exploring the wonders of the Cranberry Glades. First stop; The Falls of Hills Creek: This set of three waterfalls (the tallest of which is 63') is accessed by a moderate 1.5 mile round trip hike which leads guests past several great views of all three sets of waterfalls. Over 40 species of Wildflowers can be seen and photographed along the trail. After soaking up the falls our group will head to the National Park Service's Cranberry Mountain Nature Center for lunch. After fueling up it will be time for a live snake presentation with one of the regions top herpetologists. At the conclusion of the presentation your guide will lead you on a hike allowing you to observe first hand the unique plant and animal species found in the Cranberry Glades Botanical Area. The impressive ecosystem can offer visitors glimpses of everything from predatory plants to black bear along the way. Bring your camera!

13yrs and older - $49, 12yrs and under - $39
Parent or guardian must accompany all guests under age 18. For any child under the age of 3 parents must provide car seat (state law).
Depart 9am and Return 4:00pm. Meet your shuttle driver at The Depot.
Cass & Greenbank Adventure offered Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from May 24 to Oct 11
Cranberry Glades Adventure offered on Sundays from May 25 to Oct 12.
