On Saturday night you'll be treated to a special evening at the Backcountry Hut, including a gourmet 5-course meal!

Camping spots must be reserved through Snowshoe's Call Center and will awarded on  a first-come, first-served basis. Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: What is the 35th Season Campout

A: In celebrating our 35th season, Snowshoe wants to celebrate the history of the resort. At its founding, Snowshoe had no guest lodging available. In the event of bad weather, when guests couldn't make it down the mountain road, the Shavers Centre was used as emergency lodging. The Resort has grown considerably since 1974, but the Campout allows us to revisit that time and make new memories with a unique experience.

Q: What's included in the Campout?

A: The Campout will include FREE lodging at the Shavers Center for both Friday and Saturday nights, a Saturday night dinner at the Backcountry Hut and passes to Split Rock Pools, our indoor/outdoor pool and hot tub facility.

Q: How much is it?

A: The Campout is completely free, although you do need to purchase your lift tickets for the days you'll be skiing, as well as all meals other than Saturday's dinner.

Q: How many people will there be?

A: We've limited the Campout to 35 people. This will provide participants with an exclusive, one-of-a-kind experience.

Q: How many people can I bring with me?

A:  We are limiting individual reservations to 4 people only.

Q: What's the Shavers Centre facility like?

A: The Shavers Centre is the only original building remaining at Snowshoe from the day the resort opened in 1974. Today, it serves as our food court area, and houses our nightclub, Moonshine bar and some offices. The area that the campout will take place in is a large, carpeted, open room. We'll be doing special cleaning at the end of everyday, and we'll also be placing a padded covering on the floor after we close for the day for our participants' comfort.

Q: What will the sleeping accommodations be like?

A: Largely what you make them. The room you'll be using is carpeted, but is a typical industrial floor you might find in an office building. We'll make sure the area is clean, but you will be sleeping on a floor, so you may want to bring additional padding. There will be an element of "roughing it", just like folks did in 1974.

Q: What should I bring?

A: In addition to your equipment for enjoying our 60 slopes, you should bring a sleeping bag, or other materials for sleeping in the Shavers Centre at night.

Q: Can I bring a tent?

A: No, there will be no tents allow inside the building.

Q: Where will my stuff go during the day/my equipment at night?

A: All 35 participants will be issues a VIP parking pass for the Shavers Centre parking lot. Your vehicle will be just steps away from your "lodging" and should serve as your storage for the weekend. No camping equipment will be allowed to remain in the Shavers Centre during the day, and all ski/snowboard equipment will need to be stored during the night.

Q: What shouldn't I bring?

A: You shouldn't bring a tent, or any kind of outdoor cooking equipment. There is a zero-tolerance policy regarding drugs and alcohol of any kind. You will be escorted off the mountain and your lift tickets confiscated if you're found with drugs or alcohol during the Campout. You should also not bring weapons of any kind.

Q: Will there be showers available?

A: There are no public showers in the Shavers Centre. You will have access to the Split Rock Pools facilities, which house showers in the men's and women's locker rooms.

Q: Will I be safe?

A: Yes. We've coordinated this one-of-a-kind weekend with our Public Safety department. Access from the outside will not be allowed for non-participants after 7p.m., and Public Safety personnel will be on premise. The heath department has also been consulted. All participants will be issued special identifying passes for the weekend. This will ensure that only the lucky 35 are able to access all the fun we have planned.
