Snowshoe Ski and Snowboard Team

MISSION STATEMENT

The Snowshoe Ski and Snowboard Team is a non-political, non-profit organization whose mission is to help provide and enhance the experience of the Ski and Snowboard Team members by promoting the love of skiing and riding as a lifelong sport, emphasizing safety, good sportsmanship, friendship, athleticism and fun.

Our goal is to assist our coaches in developing the athletes' skills in all areas of skiing or snowboarding, along with quality race training and a positive, competitive race experience. It is our intent to educate and inform the parents and athletes of their responsibilities, to ensure that the athletes receive the proper coaching and teaching and to follow all rules and guidelines set forth by the Snowshoe Mountain Resort, SARA, and USSA.

Developmental Team

The Developmental Team is open for skiers ages 6-18. No previous racing experience is required, however, participants must be comfortable skiing all types of terrain and they must be able to ski and ride the lift independently. Coaching will focus on improving skills with introduction to racing. The Developmental Team fee is $550

Race Team

The Race Team is open to skiers ages 6-18 who are ready to participate in SARA race competitions at Snowshoe and the other SARA member resorts (Timberline, Bryce, Massanutten, Wintergreen, Winterplace, Sugar, and Beech). The race team offers increased focus on gate training and competition. Athletes will be placed on the Race Team at the discretion of the coaching staff. The Ski Team fee for Racers is $650


Snowboard Team

The Snowboard Team is open to boarders ages 6-18. No previous competition experience is required, however, participants must be comfortable riding all types of terrain and they must be able to ride the lift independently.   Coaching will be weekends from 8:30 – 3:30 with a one hour break for lunch and will focus on improving boarding fundamentals with an introduction to competition.   Snowboard Team dues are $550.  Snowboard Team members must join USSA at www.ussa.org.
