The 2008-2009 season at Snowshoe is going to be one filled with special celebrations and new beginnings. This winter marks our 35th Season, and throughout the winter we'll be honoring the occasion with extraordinary events, promotions, and even some giveaways. The period of December 12-21, has been marked as 10 days of Rediscovery. This time is an opportunity for our guests to truly experience what makes Snowshoe the site of so many unforgettable memories. Adult lessons and snowmobile tours will both be offered at a 35% discount throughout the 10 days. Guests will be treated to special film viewings, and on December 19th, Red Bull will throw Snowshoe a very special birthday party in the Connection Nightclub, and you're invited! We hope this is a special time for old and new guests to experience the soul of Snowshoe, and make memories that will last for another 35 years - and beyond!
The holiday season, already a magical time at Snowshoe, will also feature our 35 Year Photo Retrospective display. This stunning collection of photographs will allow viewers to travel through Snowshoe's history. A true trip down memory lane, guests will experience Snowshoe from its discovery through the growth and change that has brought it to where it is today; the mid-Atlantic and Southeast's biggest and best winter escape destination. Throughout the display you'll also hear from some of the key figures and biggest characters in Snowshoe's history.
As Snowshoe strives to maintain its reputation as the biggest and best, we continue to make important improvements each season. This season we'll add a new mid-station to the Western Express Lift. This will allow us to open 26 acres of skiable terrain on Upper Cupp Run and Upper Shay's Revenge earlier in the season. We know our guests love these signature slopes, and we're pleased to be able to let you experience the thrill of 1,500' vertical feet more often this season. We've also installed new snowmaking equipment on these slopes, and removed the dog leg on the upper portion of Cupp Run, both of which will improve the skier/rider experience.
We look forward to a great season. Think Snow!
