Daily Mountain Comments:
It’s going to be an absolutely gorgeous day on the mountain! Although we’re off to a chilly start, temperatures should be a bit above normal today, and we should see plenty of sunshine. That means fantastic riding conditions with plenty of fresh snow on the ground. We did make snow overnight last night and will continue to do so on closed terrain as long as temperatures allow. We are keeping a couple of trails and lifts closed the next few days in order to do some more snowmaking in preparation for this weekend and the coming holiday season. Lower Hootenanny, Upper Flume and Gangway will all be closed today. Only the Skidder, Ballhooter and Powder Monkey lifts will be running. The next five days should see plenty of great snowmaking weather, and the National Weather Service is calling for a chance of more natural snow every day through Sunday! While some terrain will be closed in the coming days, we're going to be adding even more terrain this weekend...including CUPP RUN!!! This is one of the earliest openings EVER for Cupp, and we're excited to offer the entire length of the slope with beautiful snow coverage beginning on Saturday. Other slopes opening this weekend will be: Camp 99, Camp 4 and Knot Bumper. All of the terrain we've previously had open will reopen as well. That will allow us to have 30 open slopes…on December 6th!!! Last night our Terrain Park Crew added two features to the Spruce Glades Terrain Park, an Unbow and a Flat Rail. More features should be added daily in preparation for this weekend’s King of the Mountain Competition. This winner take all event will feature a Saturday afternoon Slope Style Competition, a Saturday evening Rail Jam and a Sunday morning Big Air contest. All competitions are $25 and registration begins on-mountain on Saturday morning. Call 877-441-4FUN for more details. This weekend is also our annual Demo Days event, and there’s no better way to test out some new equipment than on our fabulous conditions. Call 1-877-441-4FUN to make your reservations TODAY!
