Snowshoe Mountain Resort announced today that the resort will install a new mid-station to its Western Express lift. The mid-station will allow Snowshoe to open the upper portion of both Cupp Run and Shay’s Revenge earlier in the season, allowing skiers and snowboarders to access 26 acres of terrain in the Western Territory area. Construction on the mid-station is scheduled to begin September 22 and will be completed by Opening Day of the 2008-2009 winter season, which is scheduled for November 26.
Snowshoe Mountain is pleased to announce the resort’s recognition as a 2008 Silver Eagle environmental award winner for Excellence in Fish and Habitat Protection. Awarded annually to the ski industry’s top environmental performers in a variety of categories, the Silver Eagle Awards are presented by CLIF Bar and the National Ski Area Association (NSAA).

Davis & Elkins College President G.T. “Buck” Smith has announced that Davis & Elkins has been selected as a Marketing Partner by Snowshoe Mountain Resort, West Virginia’s premier privately owned ski and mountain recreation resort. According to Carol Schuler, D&E Director of Communications and Marketing, the partnership provides exclusive advertising and promotion benefits to Davis & Elkins College, while developing new opportunities for D&E students.
The Raven Golf Club at Snowshoe Mountain is pleased to announce it has been awarded a 4 ˝ stars rating by Golf Digest magazine. Each year, the magazine surveys its more than 20,000 readers on 6,000 of the country’s top courses, culminating in a rating based on a five-star scale. The Raven is honored to have been selected as one of the magazine’s top rated courses for the 2008-2009 season.
This season, the Adventure Program will introduce two new ways to have family fun on the mountain. Both the Off-Road Dune Buggy tours and Geocaching Program offer an adrenaline-fueled experienced for all ages.
