International Workers at Snowshoe Mountain

At this time,Snowshoe Mountain employs over 1400 winter seasonal workers during peak season.  Approximately 250 of our winter season employees are Internationals from 8 countries.  We employ these workers on 2 types of visas: the J1 and H2B

J1 Visa Workers:
We employ workers eligible for the J1 visa for all types of positions.  We require a face-to-face interview to be considered for a position at Snowshoe Mountain.  The best way to do this is to register with a student travel program that we use and to attend a job fair in your city when our recruiters are there.  Camp Counselors USA www.ccusa.com is the predominant partner we use for International employment.

If you are an independent J1 applicant, please understand that we do not offer positions to independent J1 applicants. 

H2B Visa Workers

We hire H-2B workers for the following positions:
• Housekeeping
• Cook Helpers
We only hire H-2b workers on extensions, we do not hire directly from home countries.  To be eligible for employment with Snowshoe Mountain, you must currently be in the US on a valid H2b visa with an end date of November 15, 2010 or later and eligible for an extension of your current visa.
Our visa work dates will be November 15, 2010 to April 1, 2011.

In addition to your resume, you must send the following paperwork in by July 30, 2010 to be considered for H-2b employment:

• Current Resume; listing H2b visa employment history for past 6 years
• Current passport – including all biographical information
• Any previous US Work Visas for the past 6 years – most recent to oldest
• Current I-94
• Social Security Card
• 2 most recent payroll stubs
• 2 Letters of Recommendation
• Certificates pertaining to position applying for (optional)

Social Security Cards

It is a requirement of employment with Snowshoe Mountain that you obtain a SSC before you begin working.  You will not be permitted to begin work until you show proof that you have applied for a SSC.  You will need to organize your flights to arrive in the US a few days before your scheduled pick up date so that you can go to a Social Security Admin office to apply.

You must apply for your SSC before meeting the bus for pick up on your agreed upon date.  You will receive a letter from the SS Admin office that you have applied.  You MUST have this letter before you meet the bus.  The bus DOES NOT STOP anywhere for you to apply.  There is NOWHERE near Snowshoe Mountain to apply for a SSC.  You must locate and go to a Social Security office BEFORE meeting the bus.
